Hair Transplant Cost · Pearland / Houston, TX

What a hair transplant costs — and what actually drives the price.

Hair transplantation is individualized, so an honest answer cannot be a single number on a web page. Cost depends on the size and complexity of the treatment area, the approximate number of grafts, the technique, and the overall surgical plan.

This page explains what moves the price, how to compare quotes properly, and how we arrive at yours.

  • Transparent pricing after assessment
  • Written treatment recommendation
  • No pressure to proceed

A price quoted before anyone has examined your scalp and donor area is not a quote. It is a guess.

The number of grafts required cannot be reliably determined from a pattern stage, a photograph, or a phone call. That is why our pricing follows the assessment rather than preceding it — and why the recommendation you receive is written down.

Cost drivers

What actually determines your price

01

The size and complexity of the treatment area

Restoring a hairline is a different undertaking from addressing the hairline, mid-scalp, and crown together. Larger and more complex areas require more grafts, more planning, and more time.

02

The approximate number of grafts

This is usually the largest single driver. It is determined by the areas being treated, your existing density, your donor supply, and the coverage the plan is aiming to achieve — established at assessment, not estimated from a photograph.

03

The technique

FUE and DHI involve different workflows and instrumentation. Technique is selected based on your anatomy, treatment area, graft requirements, and surgical plan rather than on marketing labels.

04

The overall surgical plan

Some patients are best served by a single session; others by a staged plan over time that protects a limited donor supply. The structure of the plan affects the cost as much as its size.

05

Adjunctive treatment

Many plans include medical therapy or regenerative treatment to protect existing hair alongside transplantation. These are separate components and are quoted as part of your written recommendation.

Comparing quotes

Questions worth asking any clinic before you commit

Hair transplantation permanently uses a limited donor resource. The cheapest quote is not automatically the best value — and these questions usually reveal why.

Ask before you sign anything

  • Who performed the assessment, and were the scalp and donor area actually examined?
  • Was the graft number derived from measurement, or estimated from a photograph?
  • What is the plan for the hair that has not been transplanted, and is still thinning?
  • How will the donor area be used if more loss occurs in five or ten years?
  • Will the proposed hairline still look appropriate as you age?
  • Is the recommendation provided in writing, including what is and is not included?
  • What happens at follow-up, and is progress measured objectively?

Transplanted follicles are generally long-lasting, but native hair can continue to thin. A plan that ignores the untransplanted hair tends to cost more over time, not less.

How we quote

From assessment to written recommendation

Comprehensive assessment

History, physician examination, and TrichoLAB digital trichoscopy, including donor-area assessment. No shaving is required for the initial assessment.

Diagnosis and strategy

We establish what is driving your hair loss and whether transplantation, preservation, or a combination is the right path — including the option of recommending against surgery.

Written treatment recommendation

For appropriate candidates: proposed hairline, recipient strategy, donor approach, approximate graft needs, technique, and transparent pricing appropriate to your case.

Your decision, without pressure

You take the recommendation away and decide in your own time. Understanding the plan before committing is the point of the process.

Physician-led care

Care led by a physician, from the first assessment.

Genesis Hair MD is led by Roger Olade, MD, MPH, Founder & Medical Director, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than two decades of clinical and healthcare leadership experience.

The practice reflects his broader medical philosophy: understand the problem, measure what can be measured, preserve what can be preserved, and intervene thoughtfully.

About Genesis Hair MD →

Your first step

Start with a comprehensive hair assessment.

Before choosing a medication, injection, or surgery, understand what is happening to your hair. Your Genesis Hair assessment is designed to answer four questions:

  1. What type or pattern of hair loss appears to be occurring?
  2. Which existing hairs may still be worth preserving?
  3. If you are considering transplantation, what does your donor area appear capable of supporting?
  4. What treatment strategy makes sense now — and over the long term?

Your evaluation incorporates physician examination and can include TrichoLAB digital trichoscopy, objective baseline measurements, and additional diagnostic assessment when appropriate. No shaving is required for the initial TrichoLAB assessment.

Your information is handled confidentially. Our team will contact you to arrange the next appropriate step.

Common questions

Cost questions

How much does a hair transplant cost?

Hair transplantation is individualized. Cost depends on the size and complexity of the treatment area, approximate number of grafts, technique, and overall surgical plan. After your assessment, we can provide a written treatment recommendation and transparent pricing appropriate to your case.

Why won't you publish a price on the website?

Because a number published before anyone has examined your scalp and donor area would not be accurate for your case. Graft requirements cannot be reliably determined from a pattern stage or a photograph, and quoting as though they can tends to produce revised numbers later.

How many grafts will I need?

That depends on the areas being treated, your donor density and stability, hair-shaft calibre, hair-to-scalp color contrast, your existing density, and your goals. Establishing it is one of the purposes of the assessment.

Is a cheaper transplant elsewhere worth considering?

Price is a legitimate factor, but transplantation permanently uses a limited donor supply, and decisions made now constrain what is possible later. We would encourage you to compare what is included, who performs the assessment, how graft numbers were determined, and what the long-term plan is for the hair that is not transplanted.

Do you offer financing?

Please ask our team for current options when you book, and we will confirm what is available at that time.

Is the cost of medical therapy included?

Medical therapy and regenerative treatments are separate components of a plan. Where they are recommended, they are set out in your written recommendation so you can see what is included.

What if I am not a candidate?

We will tell you, and there is no cost pressure to proceed. Alternative strategies may include medical treatment, PRP, scalp micropigmentation, further evaluation, or monitoring.
